Our driver/guide was Ryu. He showed up right on time in a spotless SUV. His driving was excellent and very careful, even in heavy traffic. His English is great, and he’s very familiar with American baseball and players. Ryu suggested several places to see. We visited the Golden Pavilion and grounds, then the bamboo forest area, where he recommended a rickshaw tour – it was fantastic and beautiful. He also took us to a busy shopping street for souvenirs and made sure we were back at the ship well before departure. 5 stars, Ryu – thanks for a great tour!

Our day in Kyoto and Nara with Ryu was an experience we will never forget. He shared so many interesting stories about temples, shrines and local culture that really brought each place to life. Ryu was very considerate, always checking that we were comfortable and having fun. It was the perfect mix of education and enjoyment. I’d sign up for another Ryu tour in a heartbeat. Loved everything from beginning to end. The Golden Pavilion with its breathtaking views was amazing. Feeding the deer was awesome – it’s not every day you’re that close to such beautiful animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared history and information about each area we visited. He also knew the best photo spots and took beautiful pictures of our family. At the end of the day, it was a very successful excursion and a great experience all around. Ryu made our trip truly memorable!

I can’t say enough about our outstanding guide Ryu. From start to finish he was amazing. He was prompt, the car was spotless, and he provided us with water. Ryu was an amazing tour guide. He offered hotel drop-off in Osaka and allowed us to customize our itinerary so we could see the monkey park and Mikami Shrine in Arashiyama. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared interesting facts at each historic site. He delivered the entire tour in English so everyone could understand. 10/10 – I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in a day trip to Kyoto.

Unforgettable experience

This was an absolutely amazing experience – I’d give it 10 stars if I could. We were picked up right on time at the Osaka cruise port and enjoyed a full-day adventure. The van was roomy, air-conditioned and very comfortable, even for 9 of us. Ryu was an excellent guide – knowledgeable, kind and very attentive. The sites were incredible, and we could customize our itinerary however we liked (we let Ryu plan everything, and it was perfect). Beautiful city, beautiful tour – an experience my family and friends will never forget. I recommend this tour 1000%.
